Background

P

New student admissions must meet the principles of credible, fair, transparent, flexible, efficient and accountable and non-discriminatory. Universities as education providers accept prospective students who have high academic achievements and are predicted to successfully complete their studies on time. Students who have high achievements and consistently demonstrate their achievements in SMA/SMK/MA deserve the opportunity to become student candidates through the National Achievement Based Selection (SNBP).

Within the framework of integrating secondary education with higher education, schools are given a role in the SNBT selection process. Schools as educational units and teachers as educators are assumed to always uphold honor and honesty which are the principles of character education. Therefore, schools are obliged to fill in the School and Student Data Base (PDSS) which contains track records of school performance and student academic achievements completely and correctly. PDSS is a database that is used as the main source of SNBP data. Data management and processing for SNBP pathway selection purposes is carried out by the National Selection Team for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) of the Educational Testing Management Center (BPPP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. SNPMB is the only institution administering standardized tertiary tests in Indonesia.

School and Student Database (PDSS)

  1. PDSS is a database that contains track records of school performance and report cards of students who are eligible to register.
  2. PDSS accommodates the 2006 KTSP National Curriculum and the 2013 Curriculum (Package and SKS System). Schools that do not use the national curriculum are not allowed to register for PDSS.
  3. For the same academic year and level, PDSS accommodates curriculum differences between odd and even semesters.
  4. Filling in the PDSS is carried out by the school and the correctness of the data entered is the responsibility of the School Principal.

School Requirements

Schools whose students are entitled to take part in SNBP are:

  1. SMA/MA/SMK that has NPSN.
  2. Accreditation Conditions:
    1. Accreditation A: Top 40% in the school
    2. Accreditation B: Top 25% in the school
    3. C and other accreditation: Top 5% in school
  3. Fill in the School and Student Database (PDSS). The student data entered is only those who are eligible in accordance with the provisions.
